Rumble in the Jungle:
Rematch

Rematch reimagine sporting events through immersive experiences that take you back in time and give audiences the opportunity to relive the magic of that moment. This particular portal leads to arguable the greatest fight in history - the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ in Zaire 1974.

By Nevele was commissioned by Rematch to create an advert that would tease the release of their upcoming international event - Rumble in the Jungle Rematch. Responsible for directing the campaign, founder Gideon ‘Nevele’ Cudjoe, drafted in Raheem Bakaré as a co-director, Caroline Adeyemi to deal with Cultural Insights, and Michael Adeyeye as a producer for the campaign.

Trevor Beattie (Self proclaimed number 1 Ali fan, Rematch investor and project’s Executive Producer) set pace for the project with a script. By Nevele proposed a trailer that felt like a film, a documentary, an event promo and a mood film all in one. All this was made possible through Backing by the Muhammad Ali estate and ABG, footage from ESPN and British Pathé and a phenomenal production team that saw this advert through from conception, to production and even post production via By Nevele.

Original Bespoke Music

By Nevele was tasked with creating an original piece of music to sit in the same world as the adverts visual. Taking inspiration from 1974 Kinshasa, Afrobeat and James Brown music, Gideon ‘Nevele’ Cudjoe turned to his band Calibar Music with a brief, which resulted in the projects ‘In the Jungle’ soundtrack.
